Privacy
Your games stay on your devices and in your own iCloud. The app sends one thing anywhere else: a game you win while signed in to Game Center, so that friends can race it.
The app
- iCloud. Your progress, stats and settings sync between your devices through your own iCloud. iCloud is Apple's service, under Apple's privacy policy, and we cannot read it.
- Game Center. Game Center is Apple's too, under the same policy. It holds your player identity, your friends, the leaderboards and the achievements.
- The ghost service. When you win a game while signed in to Game Center, our ghost service keeps your best run on that game so a friend can race it. It stores your Game Center player ID for this app, your Game Center display name, and the race result: the game number, score, moves, time, undos, and the move list with the time of each move. It also notes which version of the rules the game was played under, and when the run was recorded.
- Nothing else leaves the device. There are no analytics, no tracking and no advertising in the app.
- TestFlight. Feedback and crash reports you choose to send through TestFlight reach us through Apple.
This site
- The site counts visits without cookies and without storing anything on your device. Each page load is counted on its own, so two visits cannot be joined together. What is counted: the page, which sections came into view, which controls were used, and a one-word label for how you arrived, such as search or social. Never anything you type, and never which game you dealt.
- Cloudflare hosts the site and handles each request to serve it.
The waitlist
When you join, the waitlist keeps:
- your email address, and your first name if you give one
- the platforms you chose
- a short label for how you arrived: the tag on the link you followed, or the name of the site that sent you, never the full address
- the country your connection comes from, your browser's time zone, and the browser's own description of itself (its user agent)
- a last name, only if your address is plainly first.last and the first part matches the name you gave, so an email can greet you properly
It is used only to send launch mail and the TestFlight invite. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can leave at any time. To have your entry deleted, write to app@freecellgauntlet.app.
